Seeing the destruction caused by Dragonsong War, he was determined to provide aid for his homeland. In doing so, he was sent off to U'ldah to train with the Gladiators Guild and made true friends along the way. Johannes returned to Ishgard after becoming a paladin and picked up the shield to aid in the war. Johannes would lay down his life for those around him and thrives on being the shield of his friends.
